Rêves
Between September 2020 and June 2021, in the midst of a pandemic crisis, filmmaker Pascal Catheland and choreographer Arthur Perole meet a group of seventeen teenagers at a middle school in the Var. From where they stand at 14, how do these young people perceive the world today and what future do they imagine? Facing the camera, they share their dreams for the future, but also those they have at night while sleeping. At this age, how do you dream when you’ve lost the right to touch each other, to see each other without a mask, to love each other without restraint?
The account of their dreams hints at the possibility of a sweet escape. A collective escape that is improvised in a nascent fiction. The constrained and motionless bodies of the teenagers liberate themselves in a movement initiated by the pulse of techno music, trance as an outlet to reality.
With the strength of our dreams and our dancing bodies, find the courage to invent yourself a future and finally discovering oneself.
